"You know sometimes in life sometimes you get thrown an unexpected curveball. Thats what happened to me about 4 years ago when I got diagnoised with type 1 diabetes. It flipped my whole world upside down. Especially, until this time I had a perfect medical history but on that night on November 16, 2005 I walked into my doctor's office and took some tests, she came back about an hour later. She told me I was in fact type 1 diabetic, I didn't know what that meant so I asked her a question that came to my mind, a question I hope none of you here tonight have to ask, I looked back at her and said am I gonna die? She looked back at me with tears in her own eyes and said No you're not, she went on to say that this would be something that I would have to live with for the rest of my life. I was overwhelmed for a moment but then I thought back to the very day when I had the dream of playing on a stage like this. So before I said a word more I made a commitment to myself that I would not let this slow me down. In this past month alone, I met the President of the United States, we've had our second Rolling Stone cover in less than a year, we've had our second #1 album, #1 on my list I found out 2 days ago my health is at the best its been. I have to say its because of you. Being here tonight, playing for the people I know have been supporters of our dream for a long time. No medicine, No cure for that matter could bring the joy that you do. I wanna say thank you. There has been a lot of people that come up to me that say that me telling my story has inspired them. To those of who say that I wanna say thank you. Cuz what you may not know is that you are my inspiration. From the bottom of my heart, I love you."
This is your speech that makes me full my eyes with tears, tears of sadness for you but also of pride and admiration for you and your maturity, your amazing way of handle everything.
Happy B-Day my Prince Charming. I love you and I always will.
